Jing Zhao is an experienced litigator with more than a decade of experience in complex civil litigation, focusing on intellectual property and technology disputes. Prior to joining HOZU Capital, Ms. Zhao practiced patent litigation and post-grant proceedings at a leading U.S. patent litigation boutique, representing clients from district court litigation through inter partes review before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. Her matters have included complex, high-stakes disputes for leading companies in technology, renewable energy, battery systems, telecommunications, and consumer products.

At HOZU Capital, Ms. Zhao serves as Investment Director, focused on underwriting litigation investments. She works on complex cross-border disputes, intellectual property matters, and opportunities involving Asian parties or assets.

Ms. Zhao earned her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School and is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and Nevada, before the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Federal and Ninth Circuits, and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. She has been recognized by Lawdragon, which named her to its 2024 “500 X – The Next Generation” list, and by Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America for Intellectual Property Law.

Ms. Zhao is a native speaker of both Mandarin and English and is proficient in German.
