Hanning Deng is a U.S.- and China-qualified attorney with an educational and professional background spanning the Chinese and the U.S legal systems. After law school, he served as a law clerk for the magistrate judges of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, where he gained firsthand insight into judicial decision-making and court practice within the common law system. As a litigator, he worked in the dispute resolution department at JunHe LLP, handling cross-border litigation, international arbitration, regulatory investigations, complex commercial disputes, and bankruptcy & restructuring matters, representing a wide array of clients, including financial institutions, technology companies, and multinational businesses.

Drawing on his cross-jurisdictional legal experience and his ability to work effectively across cultures, Mr. Deng manages and supports the assessment, execution, and ongoing oversight of HOZU’s diverse portfolio of legal investments. His work spans judgment enforcement and asset recovery, international arbitration, and complex commercial disputes across jurisdictions worldwide, supporting HOZU’s investment decisions, cross-border execution, and legal asset management.

Mr. Deng holds a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, an LL.M. from Cornell Law School, and an LL.B. from Nanjing University Law School. He is admitted to practice in New York and the PRC and is fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese.
